I honestly can't believe six years have passed since we first set foot in our Edwardian semi. As "project bathroom" rears it's ugly (*read pricey) head, I'm hoping the process of writing a blog post about one of the rooms we have completed will serve as a reminder that, despite the looming projects, we really have come a long way to making this place look and feel like our home. These pics are not the best quality and you'll see a few rogue cables and a grey fur ball named Henry in their midst..but hey, we did promise you real home projects..

This quesadilla recipe by Leon founder Allegra McEvedy, has become a Sawkins family favourite. It's incredibly tasty but also super quick and easy to make, we're talking 20 minutes from start to finish! Add a bowl of tortilla chips and an avocado salad into the mix and the result is a gorgeous meal that's "naughty" enough to make it a brilliant (and much cheaper) alternative to ordering in a takeaway.
Style Mum (aka Pascale Banks) is one of our all-time favourite Insta crushes! We've been huge fans of her stunning Instagram account for a long while now, which is brimming with effortless style and tonnes of fashion inspiration. Pascale studied at the London College of Fashion before starting her blog, which she manages alongside a busy job in the City (as well as being a mum of twin boys).
I recently posted a photo of what my family have come to call our "snug room" over on Instagram. Following the post, I got lots of questions about the room, the paint colour, accessories etc so I thought, why not write a little blog post about it?! Hopefully it will give anyone hoping to "style it dark" in their own home a gentle nudge into "the dark side!"
It's almost that time of year again... eek! We all know how fast the weeks can fly by in the run up to Christmas, and how quickly the holidays can disappear, so this year I'm determined to plan ahead and get a bit of culture into the kids over the festive season!
I've been looking at what London has to offer in terms of family-friendly theatre over Christmas and as usual, it doesn't disappoint. Take a look below at my top picks for the season... from toddlers to teens - there's something for everyone. Perfect for a special family outing, or even a Christmas present for kids who have it all!
As a parent, the very mention of the word "CRAFT" can bring on a bit of a sweat. It conjures up images of paint-splattered toddlers, pipe cleaners glued to walls, and a light dusting of glitter over everything except the "masterpiece" for which it was intended! A crafty chaos if you will. As for kicking back and enjoying a cuppa while the kids get creative, well forget it!
You can imagine my glee then when a couple of Saturdays ago, I put together a little "free from" (*free from glitter and paint and pipe cleaners) craft idea for my daughters that they both absolutely loved! If I'm honest, it looked like so much fun that in the end I couldn't help but join in too.
