Style Mum (aka Pascale Banks) is one of our all-time favourite Insta crushes! We've been huge fans of her stunning Instagram account for a long while now, which is brimming with effortless style and tonnes of fashion inspiration. Pascale studied at the London College of Fashion before starting her blog, which she manages alongside a busy job in the City (as well as being a mum of twin boys).
Recently we were lucky enough to be introduced to Hannah Sharman-Cox, founder and MD of DrinkUp.London; the definitive list of the best bars and events in London and the online home of London Cocktail Week, London Wine Week and London Beer Week. We connected with a good friend of Hannah's via the #IAmAnEssexGirl campaign, and when we chatted about our plans (and passion for a good cocktail), she was really keen for us to meet Hannah - a born and bred Essex girl herself... and now we know why! Hannah is achieving awesome things in the drinks industry and smashing stereotypes in so many ways. Read on for a healthy dose of career (and cocktail!) inspiration.
If some people are born with entrepreneurship in their DNA, then Amelia Rope, founder of luxury chocolate brand Amelia Rope chocolates, is surely one of them. Amelia grew up near Maldon in Essex (she still uses Maldon sea salt in her chocolate), and took on a series of PA roles in her twenties, but she always knew she wanted to be working for herself. After two appearances on Masterchef, and a 5-day chocolate course by French luxury chocolate makers Valrhona, she set up Amelia Rope Chocolates in 2007... and the rest, as they say, is history! You can now find Amelia's luxury chocolates in retailers across the globe, from Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason in London to Aya Cocoa in Kuwait.
