The Mother Hub Coffee Club: Turning a Passion into a Business

The Mother Hub Coffee Club: Turning a Passion into a Business

After hosting our second Mother Hub Coffee Club last week, it's official - we couldn't love it more!

The theme for April's Coffee Club was turning a passion into a business, so we were super happy to be joined by two special guests: family photographer Kika Mitchell and award-winning stationery designer Jenna Collier (aka Wonderland Invites). Both Kika and Jenna shared their career stories; from the world of television (they both previously worked for ITV) to running their own creative businesses…

The Mother Hub Coffee Club: Mindfulness

The Mother Hub Coffee Club: Mindfulness

On Friday 24th March, we hosted our first ever Mother Hub Coffee Club at CKN Bar and Restaurant in Brentwood. We hosted an informal panel discussion to get the conversation flowing, and for our first Coffee Club topic we chose Mindfulness. We were thrilled to have two very special guests; mindfulness teacher Hayley Bampton (Happy Little Minds) and blogger Stacey Leigh (Stacey Leigh from the Soul), who both provided some really great tips on mindfulness for parents, and spoke openly about their own experience with anxiety and how they work to overcome it...

The Mother Hub Mingle: No Nonsense Nutrition

The Mother Hub Mingle: No Nonsense Nutrition

On Wednesday 26th April, we hosted another Mother Hub Mingle at The Brentwood Kitchen, and this time we were talking about the mind-boggling world of NUTRITION!

Our mission was to bust the myths and uncover the cold hard FACTS, and boy did we manage to cover a lot of ground! We were joined by a brilliant panel of experts, including Jemma Sedgwick (Personal trainer, health food fanatic and author of the Truly Madly Healthy Cookbooks), Nicola Ragon-Paxton (Nutritional Therapist, founder of I Love Greens and Co-founder of Happy Tums), Johanna O'Reilly (NHS Dietitian, HCPC registered since 2008) and Emily Norris (YouTuber and busy mum of three).

The Mother Hub Mingle: Making it WORK

The Mother Hub Mingle: Making it WORK

On Wednesday 8th March 2017 we celebrated International Women's Day by hosting our first Mother Hub Mingle event at The Brentwood Kitchen in Brentwood, Essex. The event was a chance for women to get together, make new connections and participate in a live panel discussion and Q&A around the topic of 'Making it Work'.

We welcomed four speakers - all of them women (who happen to be mothers) who are making their careers work for them. Our brilliant panel including Jess Clarke (Talent Development Specialist at Bloomberg LP), Hannah Wylie (Senior Lawyer at Universal Pictures), Amy Newland (Education Manager at Kip McGrath and Director at Vivid Theatre Productions) and Natalie Reynolds (founder of Fred & Noah).

The Mother of all Launch Events!

The Mother of all Launch Events!

On 6th December we hosted our first event, The Mother Hub Launch Party! A celebration of our #IAmAnEssexGirl campaign and an opportunity for our growing network of incredible women to get together.

With an inspiring panel, amazing goody bags, and of course our wonderful guests there are way too many highlights to mention! They say a picture paints a thousand words, so we'll let Kika Mitchell's wonderful photography do all the talking! If you couldn't make it this time, pop over to our events page to see what we have coming up in 2017!
