On Friday 24th March, we hosted our first ever Mother Hub Coffee Club at CKN Bar and Restaurant in Brentwood.
Those of you who have been following The Mother Hub journey so far will know that we have hosted several evening events in the past, but we knew that quite a few mums would prefer a daytime meet-up... so, we listened! And after stumbling upon the new CKN restaurant on King's Road (locals will know it previously as Murphy's Sports Bar), we knew we'd found the perfect venue!
We've always wanted to create a relaxed environment in which women can meet other women, share experiences, build new friendships and nourish existing ones. And that's exactly what the Coffee Club turned out to be! More than thirty mums came along (many with babies and/or toddlers in tow) and enjoyed coffee, cake, pastries and quality adult conversation! BLISS!
As always, we hosted an informal panel discussion to get the conversation flowing, and for our first Coffee Club topic we chose Mindfulness. We were thrilled to have two very special guests; mindfulness teacher Hayley Bampton (Happy Little Minds) and blogger Stacey Leigh (Stacey Leigh from the Soul), who both provided some really great tips on mindfulness for parents, and spoke openly about their own experience with anxiety and how they work to overcome it. We also discussed childhood anxiety and how we can help our kids maintain happy, healthy minds. It was such an insightful discussion and we're so grateful to Hayley and Stacey for coming along and sharing their wisdom.
Huge thanks to everyone who came along to our first daytime meet up! We are great believers that when women come together amazing things start to happen and Coffee Club definitely felt like the start of something very special. For those of you who couldn't make it, here are some fab photos taken by wonderful Chelmsford photographer, Kika Mitchell Photography, that capture the atmosphere beautifully.
Thanks also to the following people for making The Mother Hub Coffee Club extra special: Dave and the team at CKN for being so accommodating, Chicken and Frog bookshop for helping us entertain the little ones.
