The Mother Hub Mingle: No Nonsense Nutrition

On Wednesday 26th April, we hosted another Mother Hub Mingle at The Brentwood Kitchen, and this time we were talking about the mind-boggling world of NUTRITION!

Our mission was to bust the myths and uncover the cold hard FACTS and boy did we manage to cover a lot of ground! We were joined by a brilliant panel of experts, including Jemma Sedgwick (Personal trainer, health food fanatic and author of the Truly Madly Healthy Cookbooks), Nicola Ragon-Paxton (Nutritional Therapist, founder of I Love Greens and Co-founder of Happy Tums), Johanna O'Reilly (NHS Dietitian, HCPC registered since 2008) and Emily Norris (YouTuber and busy mum of three).

We talked about weight loss, the latest food fads, anti-ageing foods, 'super' foods, sugar addictions, healthy eating for kids, fussy eaters, dairy, portion sizes and much more! It was the most enlightening Mingle we've had yet and it certainly motivated us to eat a little more healthily!

If you couldn't make the event but are interested in nutrition, take a look at these free fact sheets, which were handed out on the night:

Portion sizes

      Eating for healthy skin

      Food mood

      Fad diets

      Healthy eating for toddlers

And if you'd like to do a little more research at home, dietitian Jo recommends you check out the .British Dietetic Association and the Infant and Toddler Forum for more info.

A huge thank you to our speakers for sharing their infinite wisdom and to our event partners; the fabulous staff at The Brentwood Kitchen, and Truly Madly Healthy and Rude Health for providing some lovely goodies for the event.

Once again, super talented Chelmsford photographer Kika Mitchell came along and snapped some gorgeous pics! Thanks so much Kika!
